We are very excited to announce a new addition to our LPIM family! Bonnie Taxman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and joined our team last week. One of my long term goals at LPIM is to provide mental health counseling services to our patients. We first ventured into this area about two years ago with a “co-located” therapist. This was a great success, but the sponsoring facility decided to change directions and withdrew our counselor. Since then, we have been working to bring this valuable service back to our clinic.
I am proud to share with you that, with Bonnie joining our practice, we have reached our goal. Bonnie is coming most recently from Chicago and we are excited to have her. She has specialized expertise in working with patients with epilepsy and eating disorders, but will help patients address a whole range of mental health issues. She is currently available Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings for counseling sessions, but will have increased availability over time. Bonnie will also be providing outreach services and extending our mental health network.

We are working to get her credentialed with insurance companies as soon as possible, but for the moment her services will be cash pay at $60 per session. We have a sliding scale for those who meet federal guidelines.
