Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find information about the clinic policies?
Information about polices can be found here.
Will the doctor come see my newborn in the hospital?
If your baby is born at Avista or Exempla Good Samaritan Hospitals, one of our providers will come see you and your newborn in the hospital. If you give birth at another hospital, the on-call pediatrician will see your baby.
What is the philosophy of the practice?
We are committed to providing personalized medical care in a friendly environment where the patient comes first. We view patients as partners in clinical care and come together to create a medical plan just for you. We adhere to current medical standards, but understand that each patient is unique and requires individualized care.
Are there mid-level practitioners in the office?
Yes. Maura Capaul, FNP joined our practice in June of 2014. Heather Dunham joined our practice in the summer of 2016. To view their bios go here.
What about shots?
We believe that vaccines are an important part to avoiding deadly diseases. We adhere to the standard immunization schedule published by CDC. However, we understand that each family needs to decide for themselves about their care. Therefore, we will provide alternate shot schedules if desired by the family, after discussing the pros and cons involved.
What happens when your provider is out of the office?
From time to time, our providers will take vacation or be out of the office. We have three providers, so there will always be a provider in the office.
What days are you closed?
We are open Monday to Friday. We are closed Saturdays, Sundays and all major federal holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day). In the event a holiday falls on the weekend, we will be closed the preceding Friday or following Monday.
What about snow days?
We will be closed on snow days if snowfall is sufficient to cause closure of Denver area schools and it is unsafe for staff or patients to travel to the clinic. Please call if you are unsure about our closure for the day.
